Man Utd recall THREE goalkeepers from loan spells including ‘superb’ 18-year-old amid questions over Andre Onana
MANCHESTER UNITED have recalled three goalkeepers from their loan stints amid Andre Onana’s struggles between the sticks.
Onana, 28, has made significant errors throughout new manager Ruben Amorim‘s two-month stint in charge of United.
And the Cameroon international’s understudy Altay Bayindir committed two major blunders in last month’s Carabao Cup loss at Tottenham.
That is why the Red Devils have decided to cut three of their keepers’ loan stints short to bring in some extra competition for their two struggling shot stoppers.
According to The Mail, Tom Wooster and Tom Myles have come back from Farsley Celtic and Runcorn Linnets respectively.
Man Utd also recalled rising young talent Elyh Harrison from a stunning loan stint at Chester.
Wooster, 19, Myles, 19, and Harrison, 18, are all expected to stay at Old Trafford for the rest of the season.
This comes amid reports suggesting United are looking for a new goalkeeper to provide serious competition for Onana.
Royal Antwerp ace Senne Lammens is being monitored by the Manchester giants’ scouts.
However, Amorim is unlikely to buy another keeper during the January transfer window while both Onana and Bayindir are still in his squad.
Harrison, however, poses as a very interesting addition to the Portuguese tactician’s side as he will be training with the first team while playing with the Under-21s.
The England Under-18 international amassed a total of 23 appearances with Chester and kept nine clean sheets.
That led to immense praise by manager Calum McIntyre, who described the teenager as “superb”.
Harrison was involved in Man Utd’s first-team squad during last summer’s pre-season but did not go on tour to the US.
Lockerbie families banned from watching alleged bomb maker’s trial
RELATIVES of people killed in the Lockerbie disaster will not be allowed to watch the American trial of the alleged bomb maker from their homes, a court has ruled.
The US Congress passed legislation to make remote access to court proceedings available to victims in the trial of Abu Agila Masud.
The wrecked nose section of the plane[/caption] Jim Swire’s daughter Flora died aboard Pan Am Flight 103[/caption] Abu Agila Mohammad Mas’ud Kheir Al-Marimi is accused of making the bomb[/caption]He is accused of helping to make the bomb that downed Pan Am Flight 103 in December 1988, killing 271 people.
He is due to go on trial in May facing three charges, which he denies, and campaigners had requested that families have remote access to the proceedings on personal electronic devices in their own homes.
However, a federal court in Washington has ruled that providing such access would risk Masud’s right to a fair trial.
Relatives not able to attend the trial in Washington will instead have to travel to designated “fixed sites” such as courthouses throughout the US and US Embassies in other countries to watch a live stream.
It ruled that such violations could impair the defendant’s right to a fair trial by tainting potential jurors and exposing witnesses to others’ testimony.
In his ruling US District Judge Judge Dabney L. Frierich said: “The Court recognises that it would be more convenient and less expensive for the Lockerbie bombing victims to access evidentiary and trial proceedings from their homes and offices.
“But livestreaming such proceedings to individuals’ personal devices is fraught with risks of a constitutional dimension.
“It is impossible to anticipate the numerous ways in which an inadvertent or intentional unauthorised accessing or rebroadcasting of evidentiary or trial proceedings could prejudice the defendant’s due process rights.”
Relatives will be allowed to watch all non-evidentiary pre-trial hearings from their personal devices.
The first Lockerbie trial took place at a specially convened Scottish court sitting at Camp Zeist in the Netherlands.
Relatives of the victims were able to watch via remote video feeds in Scotland and the US.
That case ended with the conviction of Abdulbasset al-Megrahi, who was found guilty of mass murder and jailed for life.
He was released by the Scottish government on compassionate grounds in 2009 and died in Libya three years later.

A REO HATATE strike looks to have made the game safe for Celtic despite a much improved Dundee Utd performance after Daizen Maeda’s first half strike.
And there’s been some major drama before kick off with Nicolas Kuhn replaced by Yang in the named starting line-up just minutes before kick off.
Celtic can open up a whopping SIXTEEN point lead with a win over Dundee United.
Jim Goodwin‘s side are third after their own derby win and just six points off Philippe Clement‘s team – a gap which can obviously be reduced to three with a win at Parkhead.
But that’s a result that hasn’t been achieved since Boxing Day 1992.
The Tangerines have managed 12 draws in the east end of Glasgow within that time – a ratio of one every four games.
- Celtic are taking on Dundee United TONIGHT, Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at Celtic Park in Glasgow.
- Referee for the match is Kevin Clancy, assisted by Graeme Stewart and Colin Drummond.
- Steven McLean is on VAR duty alongside assistant Alan Mulvanny.
- Celtic v Dundee United WON’T be broadcast by any major brodcaster in the UK.
- But it can be streamed by Celtic TV who have released the game on a pay-per-view basis.
- Audio coverage will also be online for non-subscribers via BBC Radio Scotland, while highlights will be shown on Sportscene at 10.40pm on BBC One.
- Celtic XI: Schmeichel, Johnston, Carter-Vickers, Trusty, Taylor, McGregor, McCowan, Engels, Kühn (Yang), Maeda, Idah. Subs: Sinisalo, Scales, Palma, Kyogo, Valle, Yang, Bernardo, Hatate, Ralston.

Love Island bosses reveal secret talks with Tommy Fury for huge villa comeback after split with Molly Mae
LOVE Island bosses have revealed they were in secret talks with Tommy Fury for the new All Stars series after his split from Molly-Mae Hague.
Tommy and Molly, both 25, split in August after five years together and now The Sun can reveal he was approached by Love Island bosses ahead of the new series.
Speaking exclusively to The Sun, executive producer Mike Spencer confessed the former couple would both be “more than welcome” to return to the show.
Mike said: “I don’t know if we did or didn’t approach Molly, but we pretty much always approach everyone that’s single.”
When pushed to confirm whether or not they reached out to Tommy, he continued: “Probably. Yeah.
“We go through everyone and then approach everyone, audition and then pick.
“But if Molly and Tommy would like to come back here, then they’re more than welcome.”
Molly and Tommy – who share one-year-old daughter Bambi – split amid rumours he cheated on the influencer, something he’s strongly denied.
But last week The Sun’s revealed exclusive snaps showing them sharing a kiss as they saw in the New Year at a party thrown by Man Utd footballer Luke Shaw.
We later told how Molly and Tommy enjoyed a secret cinema date days later before returning to £4million home together.
Tommy was snapped wearing the same top from the night before when seen leaving the house the next day.
A few hours later, Molly-Mae was all smiles as she headed out for the day with daughter Bambi.
And The Sun revealed Molly will address her New Year’s Eve snog with Tommy on her upcoming documentary.
The new show, Molly-Mae: Behind It All, was thought to be dominated by their break-up but will now also air details of their reconciliation.
A TV insider said: “The timing of them getting back together couldn’t be more convenient, as it will see their romance come full circle with fans watching on through the documentary.
“There was already huge interest in the programme, even before the events of the past week. But now there’s likely to be even more people watching.”
