I was sick of everyone staring at all the bald patches on my scalp – now I have a 1-minute hack for instantly thick hair

A BEAUTY fan has opened up about her struggles with thinning hair and bald patches – but a quick one-minute hack has helped her thicken it up.

June Penny discovered this game-changing beauty trick that works no matter the weather.

She shared a TikTok video showing what it’s like getting ready as a “woman with thin and balding hair” and revealed her “favourite” £14.95 hair product, which she says she “cannot get through the day without.”

The product? BOLDIFY hairline powder instantly conceals hair loss, root touch up hair powder, a root cover-up and stain-proof formula that works for both women and men.

It’s available on Amazon and has become her go-to solution.

Speaking to camera, she says: “This is my daily routine, and I cannot get through the day without my favourite product, Boldify.

“I’ve already put on my moisturiser and makeup, so now I’ll show you how I apply Boldify.

I love this hair powder so much because it has given me back my confidence.

“Going out in the world with thin and balding hair, and having everyone look at your scalp when they’re talking to you, is not fun.

“I don’t know how I managed every day without this product. I’ve tried other products, but none have satisfied me as much as Boldify.”

She applies it using the sponge that is provided, and dabs the black powder onto her scalp.

According to the Amazon website, the product will give “instant coverage” and even has a “48-hour guarantee.”

The product “locks on until you shampoo.”

June continues: “Whether it’s hot outside or I’m working out and sweating, this does not run. I absolutely love it.

“I even went underwater in a pool, came up, and nothing was running down my head. I feel safe and secure knowing that this is giving me amazing coverage.

“It’s given me my confidence back, and I can absolutely trust this product 100%.”

Talking to her 42,000 followers, she says: “Like me, many of you cannot afford wigs, which have become astronomical in price.

“But for the price of Boldify, you get your confidence back. Just look at me – you wouldn’t even know that I have thin, balding hair.

“I absolutely love this product.”

Many people praised June for sharing her personal life story, and also thanked her for her video in the comments section.

One wrote: “I lost 85% of my hair after COVID about killed me, literally! It has grown back, but now has some thinning on top. This is a lifesaver!”

Hair re-growth FAQs

Anabel Kingsley, Consultant Trichologist and Brand President at Philip Kingsley spoke exclusively to Fabulous.

How long does it take for hair to grow back?

Hair grows, on average, half an inch a month. You cannot speed this up.

Do rosemary oil and scalp massages work?

Oils do not promote hair growth. In terms of rosemary oil, the current trend stems from one small study carried out on 50 men in 2015. No women were involved, and the study compared the effects of 2 per cent minoxidil to Rosemary oil. 2 per cent minoxidil doesn’t do much for
male pattern hair loss anyway, so the results were not very impressive.  Oils do serve a purpose in conditioning hair treatments though. They help add shine and smooth the hair cuticle to lock-in moisture and improve combability.  Scalp massages alone won’t cure hair loss, but it can help relax you, aid in lymphatic drainage, exfoliate and help topicals penetrate.

Are there any products or foods/vitamins you recommend someone using or eating to help with hair regrowth?

To support healthy hair regrowth, if you are experiencing hair thinning we’d recommend our Density Preserving Scalp Drops clinically proven to help slow hair loss with continued daily use within three months.

Telogen effluvium (hair shedding) due to nutritional deficiencies can often be simply treated with changes to your diet, and nutritional supplements such as our specially formulated Density Healthy Hair Complex and Density Amino Acid Booster.

Iron and Ferritin (stored iron) in red meat, dried apricots and dark, leafy greens. Vitamin B12 in animal products and fortified plant-based foods. Protein from oily fish, lean meat, cottage cheese, tofu, nuts, chickpeas, and beans.

However, there may be an underlying cause for their hair loss and rather than this being masked by using an off-the-shelf product, they should be encouraged to seek the advice of a specialist such as a Trichologist.

A second added: “I’ve been struggling with hair loss since I was 14.

“I came to find out that I was finally diagnosed with androgenetic alopecia and I came across this product last year and I’m obsessed. It does what it needs!”

And a third said: “I keep coming back to this post cause it’s amazing what this product does.

“I have a thinning spot and I am so self conscious of it. I am buying this asap!”

Hairstyles that are kind to your locks

  1. Loose Braids: Opt for loose, soft braids rather than tight ones to minimise tension on the scalp and reduce breakage.
  2. Low Ponytail: A low ponytail is less stressful on your hair compared to high, tight ponytails. Use a fabric-covered hair tie to avoid snagging.
  3. Messy Bun: A relaxed, messy bun can be both stylish and kind to your hair. Avoid pulling your hair too tightly and use gentle hair ties.
  4. Soft Waves: Embrace your natural texture or use heatless methods to create soft waves, reducing the need for damaging heat styling tools.
  5. Half-Up, Half-Down: This style keeps some hair pulled back while leaving the rest down, reducing the strain on your scalp.
  6. Headbands and Scarves: Using headbands or scarves can keep hair out of your face without causing damage, and they can be quite fashionable.
  7. Loose Plaits for Sleeping: Before bed, loosely plait your hair to prevent tangles and breakage overnight.

First look inside new Love Island villa with THROUPLE hideaway and ‘naughty secret garden’ in South Africa

LOVE Island’s brand new villa includes a throuple hideaway and a naughty ‘secret garden’ for the All Star cast.

Ahead of the OGs moving back into the TV mansion, The Sun was given an exclusive tour of the abode.

For 2025 bosses have introduced a new ‘secret garden’ – with a strict rule that couples cannot enter together.

Love Island bosses Mike Spencer explained: “So the idea behind the secret garden is you can’t go in there in your couple, so it is a place to go sneak away. Maybe you’ll get seen, maybe you won’t.

“You can absolutely come in whenever you want. You just cannot be in your couple.

“You might get spotted going in, but what happens in here could potentially stay in here.”

Host Maya, 29, admitted she “didn’t even know” about the new cheeky feature.

She said: “Basically if you want to go and do something naughty you can come down here.

“What happens in here stays in here.. or could get shown in movie night!”

With the fan-favourite room now opened up to the possibilities of throuple action, boss Mike is looking forward to “more of a sleepover” inside.

He told us: “I mean, it’s not the traditional coupling-up format, but I’m sure you could entertain a third during your time here.

“But there is a double bed, so hopefully we might see some kind of more of a sleepover in here.”

Elsewhere in the shinny new villa, islanders can now choose to sleep in the living room should they wish.

Bosses have introduced beds to the room in a bid to relax the All Stars as much as possible under cameras.

This year Love Island has a brand new ginormous jacuzzi, thanks to the villa’s owners who installed it.

Love Island All Stars 2025 official line-up

Love Island All Stars is returning to TV for season 2.

Here we take you through the line-up of Islanders’ who are set to go into the villa so far.

Bombshell rumours

Each series brings with it a string of hot single bombshells making their epic entrance into the villa.

Here’s who is rumoured to be going into the villa so far:

With the kitchen being a central area for the islanders’ chats – and Curtis Pritchard‘s favourite spot – it’s been given a huge makeover.

While the fridge blends into the background, the huge new bar stands out, which could mean more drinking games.

However, ITV bosses are keeping their strict two-drink rule per night.

When it comes to the fireplace, fans won’t notice that there’s now a new heating and aircon system in place.

The iconic spot is known to get nippy during big moments such as dramatic recoupling or shock elimination.

Mike said: “It works perfectly now. If you’re a little bit nippy, or we could throw a bit of air con in the day.

“We don’t really use it too much in the day, but in the evening it’s a little bit helpful. Because it does get a bit nippy.”

Love Island returns Monday, January 16th at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.

EastEnders confirms Nigel Bates’ heartbreaking secret and the reason he’s really back in Walford after 27 years

EASTENDERS has confirmed Nigel Bates’ heartbreaking secret and the reason he’s really back in Walford after 27 years.

Fans of the BBC soap were delighted to see Paul Bradley reprise his role as Nigel after decades away from Walford just before Christmas.

Nigel finally shared his secret with Yolande tonight – he has dementia

Nigel appeared homeless as Yolande Trueman served him at soup kitchen, before Phil Mitchell gave him a place to stay.

Nigel told Phil he had split from Julie, but it was revealed that wasn’t the case when he received a message from her where she begged him to get in touch and come home.

EastEnders viewers started to suspect Nigel was keeping a secret from Phil and his other Walford friends, and tonight it was finally revealed.

Nigel had tried to flee the Square before seeking refuge in the Laundrette.

Yolande had spotted him and followed him inside, where she could see he was upset and distressed.

When Nigel dropped his phone as it buzzed, Yolande picked it up and saw it was an alarm reminding him to eat his dinner.

Nigel admitted he sometimes forgot to eat if he was distracted and Yolande probed gently: “You’re not well are you Nigel? It’s ok, you can talk to me.”

After taking some breaths Nigel got Yolande to promise not to tell anyone before admitting: “I’ve got dementia.”

EastEnders is working with experts and organisations in the field, including Dementia UK, on a storyline, which explores the issue of young on-set dementia.

The diagnosis of young on-set dementia is given to those experiencing dementia symptoms at age 65 and under.

Nigel is set to reveal more about his diagnosis and how it impacts his life in upcoming episodes, but viewers will have to wait and see if he can bring himself to tell his old friends Phil and Sharon.

Speaking of the storyline, EastEnders Executive Producer Chris Clenshaw said: “Nigel’s story will explore the challenges faced by people diagnosed with young on-set dementia and their loved ones, which is why working with Dementia UK has been so vital.

“As Nigel’s story unfolds, viewers will learn more about the decisions he’s made and how he’s coping with such a difficult diagnosis.”

Dr Hilda Hayo, Chief Admiral Nurse and CEO of Dementia UK added: “We’re pleased to be working alongside EastEnders to help raise awareness of young on-set dementia, a condition which is often misunderstood.

“Obtaining a diagnosis of young on-set dementia can be challenging, and it is often even harder to find age-appropriate support.

“Our dementia specialist Admiral Nurses work with people like Nigel across the country, and we know the confusion, fear and anxiety he feels is a reflection of what many people go through every day.”

Is it ageing or dementia?

Dementia – the most common form of which is Alzheimer’s – comes on slowly over time.

As the disease progresses, symptoms can become more severe.

But at the beginning, the symptoms can be subtle or mistaken for normal memory issues related to ageing.

The US National Institute on Aging gives some examples of what is considered normal forgetfulness in old age, and dementia disease.

You can refer to these above.

For example, it is normal for an ageing person to forget which word to use from time-to-time, but difficulting having conversation would be more indicative of dementia.

Katie Puckering, Head of Alzheimer’s Research UK’s Information Services team, previously told The Sun: “We quite commonly as humans put our car keys somewhere out of the ordinary and it takes longer for us to find them.

“As you get older, it takes longer for you to recall, or you really have to think; What was I doing? Where was I? What distracted me? Was it that I had to let the dog out? And then you find the keys by the back door.

“That process of retrieving the information is just a bit slower in people as they age.

“In dementia, someone may not be able to recall that information and what they did when they came into the house.

“What may also happen is they might put it somewhere it really doesn’t belong. For example, rather than putting the milk back in the fridge, they put the kettle in the fridge.”

Dr Karen Harrison Dening, Head of Research and Publications at Dementia UK, said: “We hope this storyline helps to shed some light on the challenges a diagnosis of young on-set dementia can bring.

“It tackles sensitive topics and hard truths, but we know that thousands of people in the UK are facing these every day.

“The production team has shown a strong commitment to delivering a sensitive depiction, which we hope will spark conversations and encourage people to reach out to our dementia specialist Admiral Nurses for support when they need it.”

Maya Jama opens up on new romance with Man City footballer Ruben Dias for the first time ahead of Love Island’ All Stars

SHE’S the High Priestess of Love Island – and now Maya Jama has spoken of her own new romance for the first time.

Fans were thrilled when The Sun last week revealed she is dating footballer Ruben Dias after they were spotted having dinner on New Year’s Eve.

The Man City star then shared a photo of Maya on Instagram and yesterday she tweeted a fan about the news.

But she is keen not to distract from the far more pressing launch of a new series of spin-off show All Stars, and she said: “This time it’s not about my love life, it’s about theirs — let’s focus on the Islanders.”

Maya split from on-off boyfriend Stormzy in July, and Ruben is her first romance since.

Chatting to TV Biz at the show’s Cape Town villa, Maya added: “Even before Love Island, people were interested in my love life, so I’m used to it.”

She also hinted at how she first landed Ruben — at the MTV EMAs in September.

And she added: “Don’t be shy to hit on people or get your feelings out there, because you never know what’s going to happen and someone else could come in and steal your partner — so just go for it and don’t hold back.

“No long games, and take action.”

At least Ruben won’t face competition from this year’s Islanders, because Maya has revealed the lads no longer come on to her on the set like they did when she first took over as host in 2023.

She said: “They’ve got better at not trying to flirt with me, they don’t do it as much now.

“My jaw drops for them too — sometimes I’m like, ‘You lot look fit’ — but they just cut it out [in the edit].”

And she revealed she has not always been such a man magnet. Recalling her school days, she said: “Queen P is what the older boys would call me, which I thought was nice.

“I thought it meant Queen Pretty, and then we finished school and they were like, ‘We thought you looked like a pigeon, so it was Queen Pigeon’.”

REVAMP RAMPS UP LOVE ACTION

THE Love Island villa has had a raft of mod-cons installed, and a ton of new beds – as my deputy, Felicity Cross, found out, during her visit.

Felicity Cross, Love Island All Stars.

Heaters have been built into the seating of the fire pit to keep off the chilly Cape Town breeze.

Islanders can also take the plunge in a sexy new hot tub.

But the most impactful addition is the extra bed in The Hideaway – which now has TWO doubles, while the living room has five pulldown beds.

Executive producer Mike Spencer said: “A throuple is not the traditional coupling-up format, but I’m sure you could entertain a third during your time here… hopefully we might see more of a sleepover vibe in here.”

There’s also a new Secret Garden for Islanders’ private moments.

Mike added: “We have a totally different way of starting the series, that has not been seen on any previous Love Island or All Stars.

“We think it’s a killer cast, we’ve got amazing bombshells and we’ve got tons of new format points.

“Hopefully everyone will tune in and see what happens this year.”

MAYA has already started work on a new chapter of her career.
After sharing that her New Year intention was to move into acting, she has now revealed she’s already been auditioning for roles.

She said: “I have been having a couple of screen tests. My dream role, I would want to be like a villain or something – completely not like me – so it shows I can actually act.

“You know, like maybe a villain with no teeth that crawls on the floor.

“And then people would be like, ‘Wow, two different people’.”

But other acting work may also appeal.

She added: “I would never say no to EastEnders – it’s an iconic show. EastEnders was a core show in my family growing up, we were there every night.”

I can just see her sipping a gin in the Queen Vic.

GABY SACHA LOOKALIKE

PERSONAL trainer Gabby Allen might look like the perfect Love Islander – but the All Stars contestant reckons she looks like mankini man Borat.

But the contestant reckons she looks like mankini man Borat, above Sacha Baron Cohen in the famous neon-green all-in-one swimsuit
Rex Features

Comic Sacha Baron Cohen played the journalist in a number of mocku-mentaries, and famously wore the neon-green all-in-one swimsuit.

Gabby, who found fame in 2017’s Love Island villa, said: “You live in a bikini when you’re in there, so you want to feel 100-per- cent confident.

“But bikinis have to fit your body in a certain way – especially because I am quite athletic-looking, I look like Borat.”

Gabby will want to look her best on All Stars, as unbeknownst to her she will be living alongside ex Marcel Somerville – who cheated on her during a romantic Mexican holiday while she slept.

Gabby said: “We haven’t spoken for six years, so I feel like if he was to go in [the All Stars villa], there would be conversations to be had.”

And she added of Marcel’s two-timing: “That really knocked my trust – not only was it a cheating situation but how it happened, like the circumstances, was just wild.”

In the meantime Elma Pazar is hoping to stick around a little longer on All Stars than she did when she made her Love Island debut in 2019 and lasted only a week.

She said: “I’d like to make the most of it. It’s nice to be an OG this time.”

COME ON DOWN, MOLLY ’N’ TOMMY

FORMER Love Islanders Tommy Fury and Molly-Mae Hague would be welcome back on the show if they would like to relight their fire for viewers.

The show’s producer Mike Spencer revealed his team approached boxer Tommy following his split from Molly Mae.

The pair were then pictured snogging on New Year’s Eve, and Mike said: “If Molly and Tommy would like to come back here and rekindle, they’re more than welcome.”

Another ex-Islander not appearing on All Stars is Joey Essex, after his stint in the villa last summer. Mike said with a laugh: “We’ll give him a break.”

Famed Love Island relationship test Casa Amor will also not feature in this series, while the show’s private Treehouse has been scrapped in favour of the new Secret Garden.

Fans will be glad to hear the unlucky yellow bean bags have been binned, too.

Yes, really.
