Michael Weatherly Couldn’t Control Himself While Romancing a Marvel Star Despite 13-Year Age Gap – “Millennium Falcon being sucked into the tractor beam”

As some of the tabloid-favorite men and women of the early Aughts, Jessica Alba and Michael Weatherly fit into a more underrated definition of the “it couple.” The duo’s sudden escalation into television glamor was underlined by their on-screen pairing in Dark Angel and an “inevitable” off-screen romance. Despite the growing cultural obsession over the […]

CBeebies star Mr Tumble’s staggering net worth and the real reason presenter has never settled down

CBEEBIES icon Mr Tumble recently confessed that he would be taking a step back from his role on the hit kids show, Something Special.

Mr. Tumble, is played by Justin Fletcher, who has been a well-known face among kids for years thanks to his regular appearances on a slew of popular children’s programmes.

However, he is now keen to take some time away from the shows and has handed the baton over to some new TV stars – Maddie Moate, Ben Cajee and George Webster .

As well as Something Special, Justin has hosted Gigglebiz and Justin’s House, and it is all thought to have netted him a pretty penny.

Thanks to his TV endeavours, Justin is understood to be laughing all the way to the bank and has become a millionaire through his work on the kids channels.

It is believed that he has a staggering net worth of £1.5million thanks to his 20+ years in the spotlight.

He has carved out a small empire thanks to his loveable personality which has in turn churned out millions for the star.

Sales of his Something Special DVDs are understood to have exceeded 100,000 – netting £1million alone.

An accompanying magazine is also thought to bring in a huge £180,000 a month.

As well as his own shows, he has become a prolific voice actor in many other kids TV productions.

This has all helped him to top up the bank too and have earned him thousands of pounds.

However, it is this very busy schedule which has prevented the star from finding the time to settle down despite once confessing to receiving a “few emails” from overzealous mums.

Opening up about his single status, he told The Mirror over a decade ago: “I’m not married, live alone and have been single for a while now because I’ve been a workaholic filming Something Special, Justin’s House and Gigglebiz.”

Although he did admit that he longs for a family of his own one day and would be keen to become a father himself.

He said: “I do want to free up some time for myself and my family.

“I would love to have children so need to find someone who likes kids.

“A couple of kids would be lovely.”

This “Underappreciated” Juice Can Improve Metabolism and Help You Lose Weight, New Study Says

"You don't know what you've got till it's gone" certainly applies to our metabolisms. In my 20s, I could feast on burgers and cupcakes and wash it all down with a margarita—and not gain a pound! Now, in my mid-30s, every carb or ounce of sugar feels like a landmine. But new research suggests that drinking a very "underappreciated" juice could improve one's metabolism, leading to weight loss.

Elderberry juice can enhance metabolic health.

The Washington State University (WSU) study, published in the journal Nutrients, found that drinking 12 ounces of elderberry juice daily for one week can enhance metabolic health.

The clinical trial involved 18 overweight adults, half of whom drank elderberry juice, with the other half receiving a placebo. They all maintained a standardized diet.

Those who consumed the elderberry juice saw positive changes in the gut microbiome, namely an increase in "good" bacteria and a decrease in "bad" bacteria. As stated in a press release, "A healthy gut microbiome is essential for nutrient absorption and supports physical and mental health."

Moreover, the researchers found that elderberry juice reduced participants' blood glucose levels by an average of 24 percent, "indicating a significantly improved ability to process sugars following carbohydrate consumption," and a nine percent decrease in insulin levels.

But perhaps the biggest takeaway from the study is elderberry's ability to help burn fat. The press release explains that those who consumed the juice "showed significantly increased fat oxidation, or the breakdown of fatty acids, after a high carbohydrate meal and during exercise."

The researchers attribute this to elderberry's high concentration of anthocyanins. According to Cleveland Clinic, anthocyanins are a type of flavonoid (or plant-based compound) with antioxidant properties that occur naturally in purple fruits and vegetables. They can help reduce inflammation, lower blood pressure, and generally help relieve oxidative stress on cells.

But elderberry is very "underappreciated."

"Elderberry is an underappreciated berry, commercially and nutritionally," said corresponding study author Patrick Solverson, an assistant professor in the WSU Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine’s Department of Nutrition and Exercise Physiology. "This study contributes to a growing body of evidence that elderberry, which has been used as a folk remedy for centuries, has numerous benefits for metabolic as well as prebiotic health."

In the U.S., if elderberry is known at all, it's usually recognized for its immunity-boosting benefits. (You may remember seeing loads of elderberry supplements during the COVID pandemic.)

Found on Sambucas trees native to Europe, elderberries actually have one of the highest levels of anthocyanins. For comparison, the press release states that "a person would have to consume four cups of blackberries a day to achieve the same anthocyanin dose contained in 6 ounces of elderberry juice."

In addition to helping with weight management, elderberry has been shown to lower cholesterol and lower the risks of cancer, heart disease, and Type 2 diabetes, according to Cleveland Clinic.

How can you add elderberry to your diet?

First off, Cleveland Clinic cautions that "in their uncooked state, elderberries are toxic and can cause diarrhea, vomiting and nausea."

Elderberry is most commonly found in the U.S. in supplement, syrup, or gummy form. However, retailers like Whole Foods, Walmart, and even Amazon now sell elderberry juice and concentrate.

Of course, before you make any changes to diet or supplement regimen, always speak with your healthcare provider.

‘With great power comes great responsibility’ – Rory Gallagher threatens Jarlath Burns with legal action over Naas email

RORY GALLAGHER has threatened legal action against GAA president Jarlath Burns if he fails to retract his comments in an email sent to Naas GAA.

Burns contacted the Kildare club on Sunday to air his concerns over Gallagher’s proposed appointment as a coach in the wake of domestic abuse allegations from his estranged wife, Nicola in 2023.

Gallagher subsequently stood down as Derry manager in the wake of the claims, and categorically denies the allegations.

No charges have ever been brought against him and a PSNI investigation has been concluded and a decision was made not to prosecute.

And he has hit back at the Armagh man’s intervention which saw Naas ditch their decision to recruit him as a coach.

The GAA president warned the club of the wider implications of appointing Gallagher to Joe Murphy’s backroom team for the upcoming season.

Burns also referenced the GAA’s “game changer” project, which was launched last November in conjunction with the LGFA and Camogie Associations and aims to raise awareness around domestic, sexual and gender-based violence.

Ulster council chiefs temporarily barred Gallagher from all GAA activity in 2023, but the Belleek native successfully appealed the decision to the Disputed Resolution Authority, which saw him return to coaching with the Corduff club in Monaghan last year.

And Gallagher declared in a statement that he will instigate legal proceedings if Burns does not withdraw his correspondence with the Kildare champions.

He said: “With great power comes great responsibility. Mr Burns’ actions are premised on a misguided and self-serving compulsion to share his concern.

“Regrettably, whilst this is the first time Mr Burns’ actions have been made public, this is not the first time that I have been informed that he has taken matters into his own hands with respect to me and my family life.

“By Mr Burns’ own admission, his motivation is the “controversy” surrounding my “personal life” that “has created division”.

“These words should be a matter of concern to not just me and my family, but to every GAA member. It seems that social media commentary and controversy now equates to a licence for presidential intervention.

“Most importantly I engaged with the GAA’s own procedures which set aside my disbarment.

“Despite having engaged with due process and procedure, it seems clear that the president has now opted to take matters into his own hands.

“Such action is not only without precedent, it seeks to enter into an authoritarian world where due process and procedure count for nothing.

“I await with interest to see if Mr Burns takes such direct personal action against others who find their private life the subject of social media commentary and hyperbole.

“The chilling effect of these actions cannot be greater. Mr Burns’ actions not only undermine the very principles of fairness and equality to which the GAA is premised, but it sends a clear message that such dictatorial action can and will be taken, when the president sees fit.

“I have never asked for sympathy or support. I do, however, ask that this action is formally withdrawn and the contents of the correspondence is retracted. The president should lead by example and accept when he has overstepped the mark.

“Absent such a retraction, I will have no other alternative but to take legal action to cure the irreparable damage done to me and my family in my ability to continue to work as a manager in the years ahead.”

It remains to be seen if Burns will retract his comments, and a GAA statement issued in response said: “The GAA acknowledges receipt of queries that have been put to us from media organisations in relation to coaching positions with the Naas senior football team. We have no comment to make at this time.”
