Celtic v Dundee Utd LIVE SCORE: Maeda bags opener with Kuhn OUT of line-up as Hoops bid to go 16 clear
CELTIC have a priceless lead through Daizen Maeda as boss Brendan Rodgers sticks with under-fire left back Greg Taylor against Dundee United tonight at Parkhead.
And there’s been some major drama before kick off with Nicolas Kuhn replaced by Yang in the named starting line-up just minutes before kick off.
Celtic can open up a whopping SIXTEEN point lead with a win over Dundee United.
Jim Goodwin‘s side are third after their own derby win and just six points off Philippe Clement‘s team – a gap which can obviously be reduced to three with a win at Parkhead.
But that’s a result that hasn’t been achieved since Boxing Day 1992.
The Tangerines have managed 12 draws in the east end of Glasgow within that time – a ratio of one every four games.
- Celtic are taking on Dundee United TONIGHT, Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at Celtic Park in Glasgow.
- Referee for the match is Kevin Clancy, assisted by Graeme Stewart and Colin Drummond.
- Steven McLean is on VAR duty alongside assistant Alan Mulvanny.
- Celtic v Dundee United WON’T be broadcast by any major brodcaster in the UK.
- But it can be streamed by Celtic TV who have released the game on a pay-per-view basis.
- Coverage begins one hour before kick-off.
- Audio coverage will also be online for non-subscribers via BBC Radio Scotland, while highlights will be shown on Sportscene at 10.40pm on BBC One.
- Celtic XI: Schmeichel, Johnston, Carter-Vickers, Trusty, Taylor, McGregor, McCowan, Engels, Kühn (Yang), Maeda, Idah. Subs: Sinisalo, Scales, Palma, Kyogo, Valle, Yang, Bernardo, Hatate, Ralston.

Sky Sports forced to cut away following serious Rodrigo Bentancur injury as Spurs star lands on his head
TOTTENHAM star Rodrigo Bentancur suffered a serious injury against Liverpool and had to be taken off.
The midfielder landed awkwardly after challenging for the ball in the air at a corner.
Bentancur missed the ball as he dived low to reach it, and appeared to injury his right arm as he reached the turf.
He remained rooted to the spot he fell in which caused alarm for the rest of the players.
Stars from both sides immediately rushed physios and medical staff onto the pitch to attend to Bentancur.
He received treatment for around seven minutes before being taken off on a stretcher.
It forced Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou into an early change as Brennan Johnson came on to replace the stricken star.

Ipswich locked in three-way battle with Premier League rivals for £21 million-rated Brazilian striker Igor Jesus
IPSWICH have joined the growing race for Botafogo striker Igor Jesus.
Town have picked up form lately and fresh blood in the forward line could prove a huge boost to their Premier League survival chances.
Fulham and Brentford have also been linked with January moves for the £21 million-rated forward.
Jesus, 23, has scored 56 goals in 168 appearances in his short career, including eight goals this season, as Botafogo were crowned Champions of Brazil for the first time.
Ipswich remain in the bottom three but two wins and a draw in their last five games has given them hope of survival this season.
Current striker Liam Delap has scored only eight goals all season but is still leading the charge to stay up and has caught the eye of bigger clubs.
It is unlikely Delap will move on this month though and Jesus, 23, would be seen as a support player for their lead man up front rather than a replacement.
Chelsea have been linked with a move for Delap and are considering their striker options.
But boss Enzo Maresca is set to wait until summer to make a serious play for a new centre forward with Brighton’s Evan Ferguson also on their radar.
It’s thought the Jesus striker is keen to make a move to the Prem.

Kieran McKenna’s side are looking to add at least one more striker to their roster.
Arsenal reportedly had a loan deal turned down for Jesus last season.

The Motherwell midfielder, who previously starred for Hearts and Rangers, appeared in a video on social media shared by Wag Jilly Halliday (née Cross).
Andy Halliday celebrates a recent goal for Motherwell[/caption] He and his wife Jilly are expecting a child[/caption]Halliday has had quite the couple of weeks, from being almost smothered by Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers as he complimented him on his radio work to his team suffering from some inconsistencies at the hands of referees.
Add to that the news he will become a dad for the first time this year, it’s fair to say it’s been some start to 2025 for him.
Influencer Jilly, who founded the Dula brand in May 2021, revealed why she snubbed a flashy wedding last year as the couple tied the knot.
A boyhood Rangers fan, Halliday achieved cult hero status whilst at Ibrox and he had his chant belted out at their wedding day which took place in July last year.
Now they’ve taken the next step and are looking forward to building a family together.
Jilly, who goes by the name Jilly Isabella on social media, posted a video of the pair revealing the news on her Instagram account.
In the clip she dons a ‘mother’ cap and shows off her soon-to-be-growing bump.
She is then joined by her footie star beau who comes in wearing a matching ‘father’ cap and they share a kiss and some laughs together for the camera.
In the caption she simply wrote “having a baby x” and then came floods of comments and well-wishes.
Gers icon Peter Lovenkrands was one of the first to respond. He said: “Congratulations guys!!”
Replies continued to come in from friends and family.
Lauren Watson said: “Ahhhhhh so thrilled congratulations guys.”
Hollie Flynn commented: “I just GASPED OMG.”
Charley Marlowe said: “This is the best start to 2025 oh my friggin’ days.”
Meanwhile Georgia White replied: “Mum suits you.”
Other comments mentioned a “mini Halliday” while some pals let on that they already knew about the news.
