Tom Holland seems to have a lot of great films on the horizon, but there is one film that might have been an ironic project to pick, right after it was announced that he and his long-time partner and Spider-Man co-star Zendaya, are engaged.
While it might be the case that Holland’s engagement and his signing of the film were on different trajectories, the timeline of the announcement of both these developments is nothing short of hilarious, if not hella ironic.
The Partner will see Tom Holland act and produce
Tom Holland has been trying to diversify his acting image beyond just Spider-Man. Having been part of some gritty thrillers and action-adventure films, the actor has still not been able to shake off his wholesome image.
The film that is in focus right now, will be an adaptation of the John Grisham novel named The Partner. The story of the novel follows one Patrick Lanigan, who finds himself starting a new life after faking his death, fooling the fraudsters of his law firm and his wife.
Given that Tom Holland’s involvement in the project was announced at the heels of his engagement with Zendaya, there has been some hilarity that has ensued online, thanks to the way in which these developments were announced. While there is no doubt that the Spider-Man costars are stronger than ever in their romantic life, a project where a man abandons his wife is nonetheless a little hilarious for someone who has just gotten engaged.
Fans seem to have figured out Tom Holland’s role in Christopher Nolan’s Odyssey film
Tom Holland (and Zendaya) are set to be a part of Christopher Nolan‘s next film, which is to be an adaptation of The Odyssey. The film is also set to star a slew of Nolan alums, like Anne Hathaway and Matt Damon, while also welcoming newcomers like Charlize Theron and Lupita Nyong’o.
While there have been a lot of speculations about who would play which character, a lot of people tend to agree that Tom Holland is probably going to play the son of Odysseus and Penelope, Telemachus, who is the heir to the throne of Ithaca, born just before Odysseus was whisked away to war against Troy.
Fans have largely attributed this role to Tom Holland thanks to his youthful appearance. It must also be noted that a good chunk of The Odyssey also follows Telemachus on his own set of voyages, visiting the old allies of Odysseus like Nestor and Menelaus in the hopes of figuring out his father’s whereabouts.
